Shirley Ann Ard
Passed away on July 22, 2023
Shirley Ann Harvey Ard, 78, MeMe as she was known to her family, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Memorial Health. She was born in Savannah, GA to the late Jordan and Mary Priester Harvey. Mrs. Ard worked for many years at Sweet Dreams, an ice cream shop on the Tybee Island Pier. She was known to many as “The Ice Cream Lady”. She loved her job and meeting new people everyday from all over the world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ard, Sr., her daughter, Georgianna Ard, and son, Raymond Ard, Jr.
She was the matriarch of her family, and loved them dearly, giving stern advice, even when it was not requested. She had a love for all children, and they always returned that love.
Surviving her are her daughter, Krystal Ard, five grandchildren, Ashton Ard, Ashley Ard, Savannah Swagert, Breigh Ard, and Raymond Ard, III. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Shandon Cox, Lily Clapp, David Carter, her niece, Windie Russell, her great-nieces and nephew, Jessica Easley, Christina Easley, Elizabeth Moody, Donovan Russell, Ashly Pipkin, Brittany Russell, and numerous other grandchildren, who adopted her as their grandmother from the Tybee Pier.
A Celebration of her life will be held on the Tybee Pier (date and time to be announced).

Thinking of you Ashley and Family, no one can ever prepare us for the loss of a loved one, my heart goes out to you and I wish you nothing but comfort and strength during this difficult time of sorrow. Her Legacy Lives On In You!
